Amanda's Year In Paraguay

December 31, 2022     This year was tough for me; a lot happened and a lot changed. Still, I have many fun memories and I'm making the most out of my experience here. I finished my sophomore year of high school, turned 16, and went to Paraguay. Today is new years eve, and my family and I are going to spend it at their country club. In Paraguay, it is a tradition to wear white on new years eve, so my friend and I bought me a dress while we were Christmas shopping.               We are about to leave to go to the country club.     I am melting and it's only going to get worse in January. At least I have air conditioning in my bedroom. I am on summer break and it hasn't been incredibly eventful yet, but I have been able to spend lots of time with my family and with friends from AFS and from school. I've gone bowling, eating, and shopping with friends on a few occasions. I was even able to go to the graduation ceremony of the 3rd year class from my school.                I have resumed doing Spanish classes in Duolingo, and I have also started doing online classes from AWest to give me something productive to do and catch me up a bit for when I return. I am most likely going to have to graduate a year later, but I am prepared for that and I know everything will work out in the end.     I guess a noteworthy event is that I bleached and dyed part of my hair for the first time.
