January Wrap-Up
This month has been a bit slow since I don't have school to keep me busy, but I've been trying to enjoy myself as much as I can. Many days I stay at home, but I've been trying to go out with friends more often.
Luckily, I received the Christmas package from my grandparents in Chile, so I have been enjoying the sweets they sent. I'm still waiting for my parents' package to arrive, but I hope it does soon. My liaison helped me find some nearby locations to play tennis. I did an evaluation practice at one location, but they never got back to me so I just need to reach out to find a place and start lessons.
About 2 weeks ago, my host parents went to Brazil because my host dad had to have surgery. During that week, I was under the care of my host sister and a family friend. Thankfully, the surgery went well and my host dad has fully recovered. During that week, I was able to have lunch with and say goodbye to my friend Ethan, who is a fellow exchange student from Wisconsin. I can't believe that the semester is already over.
Today, I rode the bus for the first time. I went downtown with my friend, had lunch, then met up with Beatrice at Mariscal Lopez. Marie and I are planning to hang out again tomorrow, since we want to spend as much time together before she has to leave at the end of the week.
I don't know when exactly I'll go back to the US, but it's in June or July. I have about 5 months left. School starts mid February, so I'm going to have to go supplies shopping later.

Cheesecake parfait The first time I ate prawns. I felt fancy and ridiculous.
So cool that you rode the bus! I'm glad you get to spend time with your friends before they have to leave. I hope your host mom is able to track the package. Perhaps will make it for Valentine's day? Keep enjoying the summer and exploring. Te amo!!
